Creating the perfect image
Struggling to find the right image for your blog, social media post or campaign? Midjourney offers the perfect solution. At OMG, we took the time to explore the platform and create images ourselves. Here, we share what we learned about this AI tool.
What is Midjourney?
Midjourney is a text-to-image tool powered by artificial intelligence. You can give it instructions in natural language, known as prompts, to generate images. Midjourney runs through a Discord server and is publicly accessible. You do need a subscription to create professional images yourself.
Our journey
With a Midjourney subscription, we began exploring and experimenting. Understanding the language of Midjourney is important to getting the most from the tool. Its strength lies in specific, detailed prompts. Refining prompts to match our requirements proved crucial to creating attractive images that reflected what we wanted. Examples include instructions about camera settings, lighting, atmosphere, age and ethnicity. You can see the results in the images below.
As we generated images, we discovered that text-to-image is not the only option: you can also upload existing images and adjust them to your preferences. There are even more creative possibilities when visualising concepts. The opportunities seem endless.
As these images show, the results are high quality, and the tool will only improve in the near future. Another advantage is the time saved. Instead of arranging a photoshoot or searching an image library, you can now create images for a range of purposes in next to no time.
